Bring It Down Award – Week 9: Mike Evans

Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans catches touchdown on Thursday Night Football vs Atlanta Falcons

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans comes down with our Week 9 Bring It Down Award after his 150 yard, 2 touchdown performance!

Mike Evans came up big for the Bucs in their Thursday Night matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. It wasn’t enough to get the win, as the Falcons bulldozed the Buccaneers 43-28, but Evans was the spark for the Tampa Bay offense all night.

The former Texas A&M star has quietly had an amazing season. We all know he’s been producing, but how good has his 2016 season really been? Well, for a start, Evans has more touchdowns than A.J. Green, Amari Cooper and Brandon Marshall combined. He has more catches than Julio Jones or Odell Beckham, Jr. He has averaged more yards per catch than Emmanuel Sanders or Jarvis Landry. Does that say enough?

Evans currently leads the NFL with 8 touchdown catches and is tied with Antonio Brown for fourth in the league with 55 catches. He is now fifth in the league with 745 yards receiving on the year, and is on pace for 110 catches for 1,490 yards and 16 touchdowns. Pretty impressive stuff by one of the league’s more underrated top receivers.

There’s obviously still some work to be done for the 3-5 Buccaneers, but the rapport between quarterback Jameis Winston and Mike Evans is among the best in league. And that chemistry is definitely something you can build your offense around.

Evans made some pretty impressive plays throughout the night, including this ridiculous one-handed catch:
