Congratulations to Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan for taking home our Week 9 Air It Out Award with his 344 yard, 4 touchdown performance!
Matt Ryan continued his MVP-worthy campaign against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With Ryan having such a big day, you would think it was Julio Jones having a monster day. You can put your money on Julio Jones having a monster day any given week, but he had a “modest” 8 catches, 111 yards and 1 touchdown. Ryan spread the love this week, completing passes to seven different receivers. The three other touchdowns Ryan completed went to tight ends Austin Hooper and Levine Toilolo, and fullback Patrick DiMarco–probably not your first guess. Or your second. Or third.
There is a lot of talent on the Atlanta Falcons offense, but this season, Matty Ice has elevated the play of all other players on the offense. Ryan leads the NFL with 2,980 yards and 23 touchdowns, and is on pace for 5,298 yards and 41 touchdowns. Matt Ryan is right at the top of the list for MVP candidates, and strengthened his case again this week.
