Ground-and-Pound Award – Week 14: Le’Veon Bell

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell (26) runs the ball and tries to jump over Buffalo Bills cornerback Ronald Darby (28)

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell takes home 100% of the votes for our Week 14 Ground-and-Pound Award after his 236 yard, 3 touchdown game against the Buffalo Bills!

Despite playing in the snow, Bell was on fire Sunday. Bell had 62 receiving yards in addition to his 236 yards on the ground, giving him 298 yards from scrimmage. That’s more yards than the entire Bills offense had (275 yards)! A picture is worth a thousand words, so this highlight video is worth at least 63.35 million words. Let’s watch it first:

After the game, Bell gave credit to the big boys up front, acknowledging the offensive line’s solid play in the snow. The line opened up holes for Bell, but he did plenty after that, trucking, juking and hurdling Bills defenders all day.

Bell has been a massive spark for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense all season long. Despite missing the first three games of the season, Bell is fourth in the league with 1,053 yards rushing and is on pace for a career high 1,369 yards. He has 1,616 total yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns on the year.

As it’s gotten colder, Bell has gotten hotter, compiling an impressive 622 total yards and 4 touchdowns over the last three games. Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown are explosive weapons for the Steelers’ offense, but Le’Veon Bell has proved he will be the biggest threat to opposing teams in the cold winter games here at the end of the season.

Bell and the Steelers are heating up and picking up speed at the right time. The Steelers overtook the Ravens for sole possession of the #1 spot in the AFC North. With the Bengals, Ravens and Browns left on the schedule, they can put away the AFC North for good and go into the playoffs with a lot of momentum if Bell can keep up this pace.

So the only question left to ask is:

BONUS: If you Le’Veon Bell fantasy owners (of course, the guy I played had Bell…) didn’t get enough, you can bask in your fantasy playoff glory with this video counting up each one of Bell’s 47 fantasy points:
