Bring It Down Award – Week 14: Chris Hogan

New England Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan catches the game-winning touchdown in a Week 14 game against the Baltimore Ravens

New England Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan takes home our Week 14 Bring It Down Award following his heroics in a big Monday Night win against the Baltimore Ravens.

With less than 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter, Chris Hogan and the Patriots offense trotted out onto the field hoping to respond to 17 unanswered points by the Baltimore Ravens. On the first play of the drive, they did just that. Chris Hogan, lined up in the slot, took off down the seam and Tom Brady found him wide open for a 79-yard touchdown that put the game out of reach.

Although Hogan isn’t always Tom Brady’s go-to man (Brady’s best friend Julian Edelman fills that role), he was the guy Brady went to on Monday night when they needed a big play. Hogan finished the night with 5 catches for 129 yards and the big touchdown. Hogan and Brady seem to be getting on the same page and Bleacher Report expects his production to continue to show it:

Tom Brady is great at spreading the ball around and getting the ball to the open receiver–regardless of who it is. And with head coach Bill Belichick’s penchant for changing the game plan each week, you don’t know which offensive player (other than Brady) will go off to have a big game each week. But Hogan is beginning to prove himself a reliable target that understands how to be where Tom Brady needs him.

The Patriots are sitting pretty as the #1 seed and look like the team to beat in the AFC. Expect Tom Brady to continue to look Chris Hogan’s way if he can continue to come up clutch like he did this week.
