Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott wins our Week 2 Rookie of the Week Award!

First, thanks to all of our voters! Be sure to look for our Award polls again at the end of Week 3.

Now, for some quick, shameless self-promotion. Having more voters gives us broader, diverse and often more interesting results so please be sure to retweet and get your friends voting with you in our polls the next time you vote. We’re working hard to make interesting, high-quality content and sending people our way goes a long way in supporting our efforts. So thanks!

Back to Dak. Earlier this week, we broke down the hot start of Dak Prescott (and Carson Wentz) and why they’ve been playing so well.

Two, almost three weeks into the season, we know Dak is definitely the future of the Cowboys’ franchise. But he’s showing he can be the present too. Tony Romo may not be able to work his way back into the starting lineup with the way Dak has played. Not only has he avoided turning the ball over or committing any costly rookie mistakes, he has made the kind of big, clutch plays you want to see out of your starting quarterback.

On this play, Dak calls his own number for his first career (regular season) touchdown:

We can count on Dak for plenty more highlight-reel plays, and it is only a matter of time before he hits paydirt through the air. With each clutch play Dak Prescott makes, the harder it gets to imagine Tony Romo running this offense in 2016. The Dallas Cowboys are definitely starting to look like Dak’s team.
