Our Week 12 Bring It Down Award goes to Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders for his 162 yard, 1 touchdown game in a Sunday Night thriller against the division rival Kansas City Chiefs.
Emmanuel Sanders was Trevor Siemian’s top target on Sunday Night, hauling in a team high 7 passes, including a 35-yard touchdown and a 64-yard bomb that Sanders nearly took the distance. The touchdown catch gave the Broncos the lead with less than 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Although the Chiefs came back to win it on a bank shot field goal in overtime, Sanders more than did his part for the Broncos.
Sanders has been clutch for the Broncos all season, racking up 61 catches, 830 yards and 4 touchdowns. His 830 yards are good for 9th in the NFL and put him on pace for a team-high 1,207 yards. Despite all the talk that the Broncos are now a running team with Trevor Siemian at the helm instead of future Hall-of-Famer Peyton Manning, Sanders is on track for more catches and yards than last season.
The AFC West is extremely competitive this year, with the Oakland Raiders sitting at 9-2 and the Kansas City Chiefs at 8-3. Although the Broncos’ 7-4 record would be enough to be in the lead for the division crown in both the AFC North and AFC South, they will need to win out to capture the last wild card spot to get into the playoffs this year. If the Broncos do make it to the playoffs, you can bet their star receiver (and their uber-talented defense, of course) will be a big reason they do.
Check out Sanders’ 4th quarter touchdown grab and take note of the just-as-incredible touchdown dance:
